Just before the screaming began
When we flew to Pennsylvania last week, Andy asked a few friends how we could keep our toddler occupied on a two hour flights. We repeatedly heard the response--portable DVD player. We didn't take one up with us, so the flight there was difficult to say the least. We did buy one in PA with a few episodes of Pooh and Tigger so that Cole might enjoy the flight home more. He did enjoy it and played with his headphones and tried to push the buttons... however, toddlers have limited vocabulary and comprehension of that vocabulary. No one told us what to do when the flight attendant says "It's time to stow away all portable electronic devices..." Can we say MELTDOWN?! He was screaming to the top of his lungs for what seemed like 10 minutes. He cried. He kicked the seat in front of him. He just lost it. What could we do? NOTHING! So if anyone has any ideas about how to get him to stop watching the DVD player on his own, we are open for suggestions before we have another meltdown over Thanksgiving!

The Vols may stink, but my boys will bleed orange!
Don't get me started about the recent debacle of the Tennessee Volunteers. Can we say implode?
I even heard that Phillip Fulmer was booed in Neyland Stadium when his name was announced. Classic! All that being said, I've been a Vol my ENTIRE life and knew Johnny Majors was the head coach when I was a mere 18 months old (we have a cassette tape recording to prove it). And so goes the next generation of Vol enthusiasts added to our family. Though Andy is a Miami Hurricane at heart, he has an appreciation for all things orange and especially enjoys a fall trip to the promise land that is Knoxville on gameday. Since we won't be going to a game this year, and we live only 45 minutes from the Swamp, we will continue to proudly wear our orange every weekend the Vols play--even if we aren't too proud of our team at the present!

It's not a Dream. My Fantasy Team's FOR REAL!
So, when it came time for him to have TWO leagues this year, he gave me the opportunity to participate in one of his leagues. Thus the birth of team "Rocky Top!"
The auction draft was pretty fun with both of us in our kitchen on laptops, at times bidding against each other. And though the QB of team Rocky Top didn't turn out to be Peyton Manning (it should have been, but I didn't want to spend $50 of my fake $200 on him), I have a pretty stellar team of guys who haven't always turned out to be the best in Fantasy. My strategy: pick players who are either from the south or played college football in the south that I like to watch. (nearly all of my team matches this strategy)...and I must say, after week one, it's paid off. I not only won my game in my nine team league, I scored the second most points of any team!
From Jay Cutler (Vandy) to Thomas Jones (Virginia), Jason Witten (THE VOLS) to Calvin Johnson (Ga. Tech), Roy Williams (Texas) to the Dallas Cowboys defense... my team ROCKS and is currently ON TOP! Greet team Rocky Top who's league owner is a GIRL!

Story Time
As the parent of two under two, you'll sometimes do anything you can to get them in a picture together. This photo op went something like this: "Cole, sit here with your brother for a picture." Cole gets up and starts to run away. Get Cole to sit down and hand him a book. Prop Cade up beside Cole. "Cade, look at Mommy. "(Thank you) "Cole, look at Mommy." Cole continues to "read" and turn pages. "Cole, look at Mommy." To no avail. So, we'll just chalk it up as an opportunity to have frozen in time my two little boys in this brief, unplanned story time.
Growing Kids God's Way

I'm not one to really say that I "swear by" anything. However, I swear by the Growing Kid's God's Way method. Both of our boys have been reared in this teaching, and it's WONDERFUL! Cade is 3-months-old and has been sleeping through the night (going to bed at 7:30 pm and up at 6:30 am) for a couple of weeks now. Cole's been doing it since he was 5 months old. I recommend the Ezzos teaching to anyone who'll listen!
I'm a big boy!
First Time Blogger
I've realized that all of my friends across the country are blogging now. Since we live so far away from family and have lots of friends out of Florida, it's time for the Campbells to hop on this bandwagon. Though Andy's on online message boards all the time for Miami Hurricane this or UConn Husky that, there's no real way for people to keep up with us all... so here we are: A2C2 Campbell. :)
